5 Tips If You Work At A Desk All Day

 For those of you lovely lot who work at desks and computers all day... this one is for you! I've had many-an-achy-bum whilst sat at a desk - and that means if I've had it, it's most likely that you've had that very same feeling too, so I thought I'd share some tips.

 

 

1.MAKE SURE YOU DRINK WATER

 

I know it's a pretty obvious one, but you'd be suprised how much you don't drink when you're at your desk. I always like to keep a large bottle of water on my desk that I can refill whenever I need to.

 

 

2.GET UP AND STRETCH

 

I like to walk around for a little bit every now and then; whether it's playing with my dog for a little bit in the garden, or just wandering around the house (or going downstairs to fill up that water bottle!).

 

 

3.TAKE BREAKS AWAY FROM THE SCREEN

 

Similar to the last tip, I like to have an 'official' break every one hour I've been working at my computer. I LOVE doing a few of these awesome exersizes that I mentioned in my previous blog post - they're great quickies that do the job! Plus, staring at the sceen can make our eyes feel a bit fuzzy after a while, and can also make it difficult for us to fall asleep at night-time!

 

 

4.REMEMBER TO HAVE LUNCH

 

YES, YOU HEARD ME! No more of that 'I'll just wait till dinner' crap; have an awesome, yummy and nourishing lunch - I'm quite partial to a chicken and avocado salad. Or if a big lunch isn't really you thing, why not buy (or make) some healthy snacks to graze on throughout the day? Grapes, nuts, seeds - they all do the trick!

 

 

5.HAVE A FOCUSED PLAN & STICK TO IT

 

I love to make lists to plan my day. One of my favourite apps is Todoist, and it's great if you have any approaching deadlines and 'to-do's' that you need to check off you list! But if you don't fancy an app, a good 'ole trusty pen an paper 'to-do-list' will be just fine!

 

 

So, these are the tips that I like to try to reinforce into my daily routine if I find myself working at a desk - although the weather has been scorching this week, so I have put in a few hours out in the glorious sunshine!
